Hill CountryCare
512-858-5624 tel.

Entering into Hill Country Care in Dripping Springs brings you into a sunny, cheerful space. The lobby immediately unfolds before visitors with a soaring ceiling above illuminated by a natural sky light. Directly below, the bubbling of a goldfish pond beneath the limbs of a mature fichus immediately draws visitors to the heart of the building’s activity.

Hill Country Care is newly refurbished in colors of crème and tan. Administrator Bob Denson says, “Although we are excited about our new look, our core values of Patient first, Respect, Integrity and Stewardship remain unchanged as does our commitment to in-patient rehabilitation and skilled nursing care.”

“Often patients and families do not know what skilled services mean,” Donna Pettus, OTR, Therapy Manager at Hill Country Care, said. “We provide occupational, physical and speech therapy to our residents. When a patient is admitted, part of the evaluation is to determine the patient and family’s goals. Once we have identified their primary objectives, we tailor the treatment to meet their objectives.” Many of our residents have the desire to return home, so we focus on functional skills that will maximize their independence, educate them on safety techniques, and evaluate their home environment for possible modifications.” Petus added that people do not want to go to a nursing home to live, but it is often a valuable transition between hospital and home.

Daily activities at Hill Country Care under the supervision of a state qualified activity professional includes individual, small and large group programs. One-on-one activities reflect the lifelong interest of the patients. The strength of the activity program is the regular participation of area schools, such as Lake Travis and Dripping Springs, as well as community groups such as The Bluebonnet Auxiliary, the Friends Foundation, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and many local churches and countless individuals who commit themselves to facility patients without public acknowledgement.

Hill Country Care invites their Chamber of Commerce friends to come by and visit them at 1505 West Hwy. 290, just west of downtown Dripping Springs. For more info about our patient services, please contact Administrator Bob Denson at 512– 858-5624.
